about

To kind of extend some of these short melodies, instead of just repeating them in their entirety several times I tried this sort of, "reducing repeats," thing where I play through completely, then repeat, say, the last eight bars, then the last six bars, then the last four bars, then the last two bars, and then the final bar again. Sometimes it seems to work well, not always, but sometimes.

The vast majority of tracks on this album were arranged by Timothy Cummings in his collection, "The Piper's Hymnal," which can be purchased at birchenmusic.com -- there is at least some variation from the arrangement, one might call, "artistic license," that or, "an inability to play it as written"... I can't recommend Tim's collection highly enough, though, it's an excellent resource.
