about

I didn't mean for the mic to pick up the bellows, "exhaling," into the bag so clearly at the beginning of this track, before the chanter kicks-in to hide those noises, but I really like the way it sounds so much like a human sigh. Like the instrument is closing its eyes and letting out a breath of air to calm itself before launching into its performance.

The vast majority of tracks on this album were arranged by Timothy Cummings in his collection, "The Piper's Hymnal," which can be purchased at birchenmusic.com -- there is at least some variation from the arrangement, one might call, "artistic license," that or, "an inability to play it as written"... I can't recommend Tim's collection highly enough, though, it's an excellent resource.
